Clinton River in Michigan

Trip Overview

Started at Yates about 2 pm. Amazing paddle with my Mad River Passage 14. Took my dog, Buddy, and a dry sack with some goodies. Didn't see another paddler the entire 3 hours. Took a few small breaks lasting 10 minutes or so and made it to Heritage Park by 4:45.

The river was moving pretty fast for me. It was my first trip ever on a river of any kind with any canoe. Needless to say... I would like to think I did pretty good. Scraped a few times where the river widens, but I was able to maneuver around all obstacles. A few close calls for sure.

Lots of wildlife and almost no other people. A perfect day
