Trip Overview
Started at noon, water level had already dropped to 3' at gauge below dam and flow was 3.67 cfps. Another 6" would have been great. Multiple areas where we had to walk due to shallow water. Lots of shade. Saw a lots of birds, mostly heron and egrets, turtles, and some large carp. Unfortunately a lot of trash due to urban location. 2 significant portages were waterfall at Oakmont Park and log jam shortly before reaching Mary's Creek convergence. Portage waterfall to right and log jam to left. Took us 3.5 relaxed hours.Safety Notes
check gauge. We went at 3', but water could easily reach dangerous levels when dam is releasing.Conditions
In addition to checking gauge below Benbrook Dam do a visual check at 183 trailhead. If water is not flowing through or slightly over bike path bridge, it's not worth it.Portage Notes
(1) to right at waterall, experienced whitewater paddler could run if water is at right level. (2) to left at log jam shortly before reaching Marys CreekTrip Details
