Trip Overview

674 acre lake located in Rutland County. Surrounded by Green Mtn. National Forest.

Several camp-sites to be found along the shore(pack-in/pack-out). Crowded on week-ends and packed on holidays, but almost deserted on weekdays.

Well worth the trip.

Watch the weather; the wind can whip up some serious rollers on this lake. Give points a wide berth until you get to know this lake. A LOT of shallow spots with plenty of shoals off-of the points.

Accommodations:

Boat ramp and parking. Porta-potty during summer. Campsites are pack-in/pack-out.

Directions:

Take VT.route 7 north from Rutland. Bear right on East Pittsford Road to Chittenden; bear right on Dam road. Bear right at the dam to park.
