Trip Overview

We elected to put in from the Geneve Rd. Bridge just 3/4 of a mile south off of M-20 so as to not unload and park along a busy road. There is ample room to park along the gravel road. Put in of the Kayaks was easy along the N/E side of the bridge.

Nice easy float for kayaks and canoes, no portages were required. Floated past untouched woods and a few homes. We floated down stream to our take out point of the Floyd Church on the river banks in the cross roads of Floyd. Floyd is located at the intersection of 8 mile and West Chippewa Rd. Easily located when traveling west from Midland on M-20 from Midland traveling toward Mt Pleasant. At 8 Mile Rd, turn south 1.5 miles to the Floyd Bridge on 8 mile. Park in the parking lot, easy unloading spot.

This float is only 7 miles between the put in and take out by road, it is probably 3 times that by river. We only paddled occasionally and floated for 4 hours. Nice easy serene float, we will do again.

Directions:

Easy access from M-20 west of Midland. The take out point is at 8 mile rd 1.5 miles south of M-20. Then proceeding further west on M-20 7 miles to Geneve Rd, south 3/4 miles to the bridge at the put in point.
