Trip Overview
The Cheat River between Parsons and St George is an easy access river that still has the feel of wilderness. The water is suitable for beginners and has great swimming holes and pretty big small mouth bass.
We used an outfitter called Blackwater Outdoor Adventures to support our trip (rent a canoe and get a shuttle.)
Accommodations:
You can camp at Blackwater Outdoor Adventures or stay at one of the nearby state parks, Blackwater Falls and Canaan Valley. There are also bed and breakfests in nearby Davis and Thomas.
Directions:
The outfitter is in a little town called St. George outside of Parsons West Virginia and near the Canaan Valley
