Trip Overview

Chattahoochee River - Whitesburg to Franklin

We started out at Whitesburg, GA @ Hwy 16 and paddled down to Chattahoochee Bend State Park where we camped for the night.

This was a very nice section with class 1 rapids mixed in with flat water. Very easy. Day 2 we went from Chattahoochee Bend to Franklin. Again, mixture of class 1 & lower Class 2 shoals. Very easy to run.

Accommodations:

Ramp was very nice. Left car there over night with no problems. Chattahoochee Bend State Park was a nice place to camp over night.

Outfitting:

Mad River 14 Canoe & a Jackson Rogue Kayak

Fees:

Hwy 16, no fees.

Shuttle cost us $25 from Franklin.

Chattahoochee Bend State Park walk-in site was $20.

Directions:

From Carrolton, GA take Alt 27 hwy 16 about 10 miles or so to the Bridge over the hooch. Ramp on left just past Bridge.
