Trip Overview
My family and I did a day trip on the Hooch starting at Jones Bridge. We floated to the take out at Riverside park at the sand volleyball court. There isn't a ramp but you can get out at a dock - no problems.
I believe the float was about 9 miles and took us some 5 hours. We played a bit, trying to get the occasional golf ball in the shallows so we took our time. We did do some paddling the last half of the float because it seemed that it was taking longer than expected.
The level was slightly low but we only had to get out 1 time to pull our boats across some rocks. A few shoals but nothing to be concerned about. I even let my 7 year old son do one by himself!
This was a good float for a family but expect a full day.
Fees:
$3 day parking.
Directions:
