Trip Overview

Great paddling trip, West St bridge in Medfield to The Charles Cafe in Millis.

This is an easy paddle, the current is hardly moving. Very nice launch at the West St bridge where you can park close to the launch. Paddle for about a half hour and just before the route 109 bridge you will find a small cove on the right. That is where you will find The Charles Cafe, great for breakfast and lunch. There is a very easy launch at the The Charles Cafe, you hardly get wet getting in or out of the kayaks. The food is great and not expensive. We like to have breakfast on the deck where you can see a bit of the cove. The trip back is with the current, that works well after a nice breakfast!

On this trip we have seen a few Blue Heron and many turtles. It's a great trip for young families, The Charles Cafe rents canoes with two small chairs for the kids. They also rent kayaks, both single and double.
