Cedar River in Nebraska

Trip Overview

Easy river trip from Belgrade to Fullerton. The launch location listed from the Game and Parks website is not easy to find. We found an ok area to launch from the north side the bridge located just south of Belgrade.

Lots of sandbars on river close to Belgrade. River deepens further south along Cedar River (though not much). Water did tend to be relatively shallow (early August).

Longer trip than expected. Game and Parks page lists this trip 4 - 6 hours, but our trip was 9 + hours - most likely do to the shallow water.

Accommodations:

Camping available in Fullerton at Broken Arrow Wilderness or at Powerhouse Park (north of the grain elevator).

Directions:

North on Nebraska 14 from I-80 to Fullerton. Follow directions to Belgrade from G & P.

Broken Arrow Wilderness also rents canoes and tanks and will provide transportation... but not all the way to Belgrade.
