Trip Overview

Remarkably nice day with very few waves. Few people on the lake - so it was a nice day to explore. Hit the shorelines nearby and watched hawks, cranes, turtles, and a few snakes, etc... Then paddled out to the peninsula and swam for a bit. Found MANY fossils at the shoreline here - makes me wonder where the quarry was from where they brought in the rocks. A total of 3.5 miles paddling.

Safety Notes

nothing notable - watch for jet-skis & boats under power.

Gear Notes

12', 10' rec yaks.

Conditions

Sunny, Hot, calm.

Portage Notes

A few folks fishing. A kayak rental kiosk is also here. We brought our own.
