Cedar Hill SP - Joe Poole Lake

Trip Overview

Saturday - we expected a lot of folks on the water, however temps were in the 104 deg.F range - so public numbers were low for the day. Windy - so enjoyed paddling out, then just drifting for a few hours. A great day. Swam for a bit, and tested out my DIY kayak ladder for re-entering the vessel. When returning to shore, we did encounter game wardens on the water - checking for PFD/alcohol on the lake. We were clear.

Gear Notes

Sundolphin Aruba 10 and Aruba 12ss. Tested ladder foot-hold. Also had installed 1 handhold to each kayak.

Conditions

Hot, Sunny, breezy

Portage Notes

Muddy Muddy Muddy clay banks of the lake.
