Cedar Creek / Congaree National Park in South Carolina

A self-supported trip created by guest-paddler

Trip Overview

This is a great trip for a beginner with a little experience. Cedar Creek is a slow running creek when it is not at flood stage.

There is lots of wild life not to mention a Loblolly pine that is 167 ft tall. We saw a river otter that made the trip a blast.

The vistor center was one of the nicest I have ever seen.

no fees for canoeing just sign in at the park

From Columbia: take I-77 to exit 5 onto SC 48 (bluff road). Follow the signs to the park.
