Trip Overview

We put in at River Park and paddled to Landsford Canal State Park just a little over 16 miles. The damn at Lake Wylie had a schedule release and provided us with some good moving current as well as producing a few small rapids.

We used Bash Outdoors Outfitter out of Forth Mill SC for the shuttle. They are a great group of people and are very knowledgeable of the river and surrounding area.

It's always good to check for the schedule release at Lake Wylie damn either by their website or with Bash Outdoor Outfitters. River is best run during this release.

Accommodations:

River Park access just on the down river side of I-77 has a landing and ample parking as well as restroom.

Fees:

No fees, although if you are taking out or putting in at the state park beware of South Carolina State Park hours of operation so you wont be locked in or out.

Directions:

From Charlotte, NC go south on I-77 cross Catawba River and follow signs to River Park.
