Cape Meares Lake

Trip Overview

Gorgeous day on the Oregon Coast. This is a nice protected lake between the ocean and Tillamook Bay. There was a stiff breeze and a little chop, but a very nice, easy paddle. We spotted a few herons fishing (and catching), cormorants and ducks. There's also a beaver lodge in the middle of the lake, but we saw no beavers. You can launch and park your car along the road on the south shore of the lake. There's a fishing dock at the SE corner that we launched from, but we landed at the small ramp in the center of the south shore.
