Campbell Lakes

Trip Overview

The Southlake at Campbell Lakes hardly had a ripple on my short voyage. This gravel mine, now lake, is not connected to a creek or river. The music blasting across the lake from MVP sports park detracted from tranquility of the water as the sun set. Pollen, moss and seeds from the trees covered the surface around the edges of lake. I did not see any strainers or stumps in the water. Most everyone at the lake was engaged in fishing. I did not see any wildlife other than a few birds. I prefer the lake at nearby Miami Whitewater Forest.

Portage Notes

The paved path from the parking lot to the lake is about 60 feet long.
