Camp Atterbury to Lowell Bridge

A self-supported trip created by dieselgatesrvvr

Trip Overview

We put in just north of Furnas Mill Bridge in Camp Atterbury (39.380738, -86.006226) and took out at Lowell Bridge (39.239217, -85.972534). This paddle took from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. This included a lunch break and a couple stops to swim but we paddled most of the way. Once we got past Heflin Park, we did not see more than 1 or 2 other groups. Blue's Canoes uses a good portion of this route so rentals are available for a shorter float if you don't have your own boat.

Gear Notes

Mid 80s Coleman Plastic Canoe, old school Navajo wood paddles.

Conditions

A little bit low. We were in a canoe and had to get out a few times and drag though some sand and gravel.
