Trip Overview

WARNING to kayakers.

Burke Lake Park changed their rules so that kayakers are not allowed on the lake unless they are fishing. I guess it's a fishing lake now, even though they will rent you an oar boat to go out on whether you're fishing or not. Doesn't really make any sense.

So bring your fishing pole and license if you want to kayak Burke Lake

Accommodations:

campgrounds, marina, nasty boat rentals, fishing pier, small locomotive train ride for the kids, and other amusement type activities for the little ones.

Fees:

free for Fairfax Co. residents, $8 entry for others and $5 boat launch.

On weekdays and non holidays, and after October, I think everything is free.

Directions:

Off of 123/Ox Road about 4 three miles south of Burke.
