Trip Overview

I've been paddling the Broad for 28 years and it never ceases to be fun. The river is largely flatwater with interspersed fun rapids which can vary in difficulty depending on water level. There are 2 roughly 8-mile sections to choose from. The upper section is a float suitable for anyone and the lower section is for the more adventurous.

The river valley is beautiful with a wide variety of animals and plant life. Boat rental and private boat shuttle are available from the Broad River Outpost located on Highway 281 (Wildcat Bridge) between Danielsville and Royston. For those looking to complete their weekend getaway experience camping is available at the outpost.
