Trip Overview

The forty miles below Possum Kingdom Lake winds through the Palo Pinto Mountains, one of the oldest ranges in the state. Crystal clear and cold, the river flow depends on the release from Morris Sheppard Dam. Gravel bars are plentiful for camping.
