Nearest City: Sumrall, MS,
Difficulty: Easy

Description:

One of the most peaceful days I have had in a long time. I went to conduct a recon ahead of a group trip and river cleanup in two weeks. We found that, that portion (5 miles) of the river had a lot of tree debris which made it difficult in places. During the next trip we will take hand saws to make it more navigable.

Watch for Snakes along the route, there were several.

Accommodations:

The access ramp is steep and my truck rubbed bottom but I managed.

Fees:

None

Directions:

Take your best route to the intersection of Hwy 42 and Hwy 589 in Sumrall. Head west on Hwy 42 for about 1/2 mile turn right on Rock Hill Rd. This will become Sumrall Seminary Rd. Travel along about 6 miles to the 800-900 address area.

Resources:

I used Google Earth to get my bearings before going. It's pretty accurate.
