Bonnie Lake in Washington

Trip Overview

The previous description of Bonnie Lake is nice but does not do the location justice. Our trip there early last spring is one of my most memorable trips ever. The bluffs surrounding the lake were draped with multiple waterfalls, 10 or more, in addition to the couple that last throughout the year. Bonnie Lake is wonderful for canoe or kayak paddlers because of the undeveloped put-in and small creek that keeps out the monstor motor-boats. During the trip in, the paddle, and then the trip out we saw deer, the local elk herd, buffalo from a nearby ranch, a fancy sheep ram that looked like a miniature Bighorn, and another long-horn sheep traipsing over the rocky bluffs. A hidden jewel in Eastern Washington!
