Blue Marsh Lake in Bernville, PA is the main area in the Berks County/Reading Pa area for lake paddling. There are many points to start from some that require a parking fee, others free. The best places to paddle are north of the main lake body in the no wake zones to avoid heavy motor boat traffic. Good access points include Mt. There are several miles of arms of the lake to explore including several small inlets. Plenty of waterfowl can be seen. In the main body of the lake there is a small island that can be explored as well.
Many large parking areas which also provide outhouses or in some cases actual bathrooms. Picnic facilities provided at day use area and Church Road with BBQ pits. See maps or contact ranger station for info.
Certain areas including State Hill and Day Use areas require $3 charge per car for parking. There are also some state boat ramps which require PA state boat sticker.
