Trip Overview

Blue Marsh Lake in Bernville, PA is the main area in the Berks County/Reading Pa area for lake paddling. There are many points to start from some that require a parking fee, others free. The best places to paddle are north of the main lake body in the no wake zones to avoid heavy motor boat traffic. Good access points include Mt. Pleasant just off Rt 183 which is at the beginning of the no wake zone, Church Road, Bernville-Robesonia Road, and Peacock/School Road. There are several miles of arms of the lake to explore including several small inlets. Plenty of waterfowl can be seen. In the main body of the lake there is a small island that can be explored as well.
