Trip Overview

My fiance and myself put in the Blanco a Wayside dr. about 5.5 miles out of Wimberley on the west side of town. Nice put in, 1 parking spot(go early). The Blanco is a slow river with a few road/low water xings, but is very navigable (despite what rich lobbyists are trying to say about it). You go a while , it slows down and then you go thru a few rapids. There are a few islands to stop on. We went about 8 miles and got out at the &A ranch/1492 xing at river road.....Fun trip-3.5 hours @ 8 miles take a snack and water. We took my Perception America 11.0 and a 9.5 sit on top from Ram-X......worked great.....

Accommodations:

Smelly Campground facilities....stay in San Marcos

Directions:

I-35 to San Marcos exit rr 12/80 and head west take 12 into wimberley and take a left on cr 1492...drive very slow(cops) and after you cross the river you'll see 7 A Ranch, park one car there and take the other car out Wayside dr about 5.4 miles to the low water xing and jump in....* miles back to the car at 7A
