Trip Overview

Meandering slow river, many access points, between Black Lake and Chehalis R. Suitable for half day-all day, solo or group. Near urban area, but genuine wilderness feel. Beaver dams, many NW birds. Most of area preserved, more being bought for preservation.

Directions:

I-5 S from Seattle or N from Portland. Exits for Hwy 12 west, Rochester, Little Rock, or Tumwater will lead you there. Inquire locally.

Launches:

Several. Intersections of 110th st & Little Rock Road, 123rd & Little Rock Rd., clearing south of Little Rock about 2 mi, etc. etc. Inquire locally.
