Trip Overview

We put in at Ervin Public Boat Landing also know as Cantley Landing. As we got to the landing we noticed that the water was extremely high and running fast from the recent heavy rains. This part of the river is normally low and slow with a lot of sand bars. So we took off for our day on the water.

As we floated down the river we noticed a lot of birds in the trees watching us and we came by. we could hear a few deer pushing through the high waters to find dry ground and some turkeys and walking around on the higher ground where some homes where. This area has very few homes and is a very quiet because it has a lot of wetlands around it. If you enjoy the quiet outdoors this is a trip for you.

We made it to our take out point about four hours later at Reds Landing. This was a good trip with the water up so high. when the water is low is would be a difficult trip with trees blocking the water and some areas with very little water.
