Bergen Swamp in New York

Trip Overview

We paddled in a canoe from Warboys Rd, Bergen (private property launch) to the Bergen Rod and Gun Club. We encountered over 30 obstacles and had to exit the creek, walk through the swamps edge with the canoe and enter again. The stinging needles, the wonder of snakes and the bugs were enough to drive any person crazy! Worst trip ever!

I am told the ride beyond Route 19 traveling downstream is better but I would not do any part of the creek West of 19 again!
