Trip Overview

Beaver River (Epping launch)

Paddled about 80 minutes upstream against a gentle current, then turned around and paddled easily with the current, downstream.

Saw lots of muskrats, lots of Canadian Geese, some turtles, about 17 "snowy" egrets but no beavers!

Whole trip was done in 2.5 hours.

Accommodations:

Park at the Epping bridge. Easy to launch kayaks.

Fees:

Can ask the nearby outfitters to pick you up for $9 a kayak.

Directions:

South of Thornbury (just west of Collingowod).
