Beaver Creek in Missouri

Trip Overview

Went with group of 8 friends from up the road about an hour in Springfield, MO. The creek was great. The water was cold, clear and just right for floating.

Its rained (showers) in this area every day for almost 3 weeks and everything is green and beautiful. We floated about 4 hours. At the halfway point there was a bald eagle's nest. Huge birds overhead, but not sure they were the eagles. Could have just been buzzards.

Didn't see many birds or insects other than the occasional blue heron. Did see a few "water-mouthed cotton-moccasins", though.

The folks at Beaver Creek Canoe Rentals are friendly and helpful. They have a small store where you can buy a t-shirt or something you forgot to bring.
