Bear Creek in North Carolina

Trip Overview

A friend and I started from the Hwy. 705 access spot and paddled south on Bear Creek down to the dam and turned around.

The water was below the "0" mark on the bridge but we were able to paddle the 1.2 miles each way, except for one 20 yard stretch. This is a pretty short paddle, just over 2 miles round trip.

I do not think this is worth a long drive, but if you are visiting the potteries in Seagrove, it was a nice break.

Accommodations:

None other than a port-a john, but Carolina Chicken just up the road has good fried chicken.

Fees:

None

Directions:

Just west of Robbins on Hwy. 705. There is a sign.
