Assabet River up and back from Concord confluence

A self-supported trip created by fssnowshoe

Trip Overview

A 4.3 mile upstream paddle on the Assabet from the confluence with the Sudbury River in Concord, MA (Lowell St ramp). An easy downstream paddle back to the confluence and a short detour to the old North Bridge.

Safety Notes

Lots of wood down in the Assabet. The upper third featured some strenous paddling to make it almost to the bridge that is just downstream from the last dam in West Concord. Cold water so drysuits are a necessity.

Gear Notes

Stellar 14' and CD Vision 140

Conditions

Plenty of water in the Assabet. Temps in the upper 30's and low 40's
