A morning paddle into the lake and then up the Dead River to the inflow stream, 7.6 miles was all we did but certainly could have done more. Very quiet for a Saturday morning encountering only one fishing boat on the way up the Dead River and the rest of the traffic in the main part of the lake returning to the launch. The Dead River is substantially undeveloped unlike the rest of the lake so it provides a more natural experience. A nice end to a fantastic trip paddling Downeast Maine.
