Afternoon trip

A self-supported trip created by paddler518406

Trip Overview

Paddled the Conestoga River. Left from West Earl Park and paddled to Pearlman Park. Took my son and I 2 1/2 hrs. Some areas of River are very shallow (2-6 inches). Very peacefully. Passes under covered bridge on Hunsicker rd. Smaller kayak recommended. I have a Loon 138 (13ft 8in) vessel which did make portage a little challenging.

Safety Notes

Rocky exit and entry.

Conditions

Beautiful weather. No rain in past 48 hrs prior. Water was calm.

Portage Notes

Exit to the right around 200 ft before damn. It is just a cement slab to get out. Go through meadow and reenter river about 200 ft down river.
