Trip Overview
Clopper Lake is relatively easy to get to from DC and the surrounding area. A great lake to get an easy paddle in. Nice slopping hills to the lake so easy to put in basically anywhere (especially if you can't get a parking spot near their boathouse). Lots of great wide open green space too for families or friends who aren't going to paddle. Only thing to watch for are some trees that stick out and it gets super shallow really quickly as you near the side of the lake where Longdraft Rd. goes over. Definitely recommend for solo paddlers, newer paddlers who want to avoid any boat wake, or folks looking for a place that has a restroom, wooded walking trails, parking, and easy access to the water.
