Trip Overview

Went to Gallitzin state park and got launch permits at the cabin rental office and a map of the park. We then went to the Killibuck boat launch on Long rd. to get started. We paddled straight across to Bosar point to get our 1st feel of what it's like to kayak, then proceeded to paddle around Mud Lick cove and back past Bosar point and around Killibuck cove as we made our way back to the boat launch at Killibuck. Doesn't look like alot when looking at the map but it took us about 3 hours and due to the 100° real feel and humidity, 3hrs was enough for our 1st Kayak trip. Definitely looking forward to kayaking next wknd and checking out more of Glendale lake but also want to experience river kayaking soon. I was surprised how few ppl were out on the lake for a hot July Saturday but it made for great 1st kayaking experience. Any tips, pointers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
