Hi All, I'm the chairperson of the charitable trust (Whiteadder Watersports Trust SC050575) that is taking over the Centre that used to be run by Scottish Borders Council. We have big plans for the Centre over the next ten years but when we started working on this project back in early 2020, we had zero funding. Now, thanks to the generosity of local community funds, we are on the point of reopening but we still need to raise more funds to ensure our future.
We are asking users to purchase passes to help us get through the first two years and improve access to the water. The "right to roam" means that anyone can enter the water if they wish but swimmers, SUPers and Kayakers can get a year pass for £40 on our website www.whiteadderwatersports.co.uk. Paying this will help us keep the Centre open and give access to the Centre toilet and changing facilities.
More and better than this, we will be renting out sit on kayaks and paddleboards, managing the fishing, organising supported swimming sessions running sailing courses - we have just been granted Royal Yachting Association Training Centre status - and offering a few other innovations.

The team behind this charity used to be instructors at the Centre and we understand how the place works. We have put huge amounts of our own time in to get it to this point. We hope everyone will appreciate this and help us make the most of this lovely place.
