The channel between Crooked and Holiday islands serves as a water entrance into Trident Basin, Kodiak’s floatplane base. At low tide this tiny waterway is a showcase of maritime life on display. Trident Basin is one of the easiest launch points, and weather is almost always manageable, as it's protected by the surrounding islands.
Hazard warning: Keep close to land and keep an eye out - float planes are often taking off or landing near here.
