Just 20 miles north of Warroad, MN in the midst of America and Canada's larger lakes is one of the best areas for big water kayaking in central North America, and of course much lesser known than Lake Superior. In Lake of the Woods' central region adventurous kayakers can enjoy being briefly out of sight of land while on a freshwater lake. The Great Lakes are probably the only other lakes in America for which this is possible.
