Tapawingo Park

Wabash River

Description

Located between Lafayette and West Lafayette, the 20 acre park is managed by the West Lafayette Parks & Recreation Department, the park offers hand carry canoe and kayak access (about a 100 yard carry) to a sand beach.

From the river, the access site is on the west bank just downstream from a viewing platform atop an old bridge column.

The park also offers water, a paved parking lot, picnic area, sand volleyball court, access to the Wabash Heritage Trail, and a playground. A skating center with restrooms is located in the park.

A short walk to the Levee area offers a wide variety of places for food, supplies, fuel, phone and entertainment.

The Wabash Riverfest is held here in early July.
