Lake Hiawatha

Description

Lake Hiawatha has a primitive dock near a picnic shelter. The water is normally quite calm but wind can make it verging on whitewater. You can easily paddle for 1-2 hours south and also go through the culvert after the white bridge (if you go though culvert make sure to steer right as the left side is very shallow and I have gotten stuck there before) It is commonly used for fishing and has a small uninhabited island. Some wildlife you may come across are ducks, geese, pelicans, and turtles. It is near trailer campsites but day parking is free. To get to launch point you must go down a dirt road.
