This is about a five mile stretch of river with plenty of rapids (small) twists and turns, wildlife is abundant. We saw a blue heron, a white tail deer in the water, crayfish, fish, lots of birds, frogs, turtles. Two cars are necessary for this trip. You can leave one at the end of Turkey Hill Road and US 70 at the bridge where the waterfall is. I’ve seen someone kayak down the waterfall, but I would not try it myself! It has 3 levels to go down. We exit at the pond area to the left. You cannot miss it. There’s a large beaver dam to get around about half way. You can go over the left side, over or around the right side too and then it keeps going and probably the best part was the second half!! I do not recommend this one for anyone who isn’t at least a moderate level kayaker. My 15 year old is skilled and was able to do this one with us with no help. He did better than us in some dicey spots! Definitely not for the little ones or seniors. This one takes work. So worth it! There’s a parking area for vehicles on the left, two miles up Mt Ross Road just before the bridge that goes over the creek. The launch is a little steep.
