Description
This tranquil waterway is a paddler’s dream. A low traffic creek with few – if any – boats, these waters are undisturbed and full of nature.
One may choose to launch from Country Road 18, but be warned, there is no official launch nor a dock. There is a gravel shoulder along the road to park on. Please ensure that you are not trespassing onto private property.
Paddle your way downstream to the north to find Downtown Kemptville, where you can dock at Rotary Park near the bridge. You can wander into the town for lunch, visit the library for some nice air conditioning, or visit one of the many stores in the area. Recommendations to visit include Salamanders pub, Hyde Smokehouse, the library (as mentioned), the Book Market, and more.
Alternatively, paddle upstream to the south to find the town of North Augusta. Water flows 11.5m3/s in spring. Around 4m3/s in summer.
