A short distance from Perth this section of the Tay River is runnable during high water with sections of Class I and Class II whitewater with one or two short portages depending on water level and tree hazards. At low water, you will spend a great deal of time portaging or wading through rock gardens. During early spring, it is a fun afternoon run. Take outs are at various points. I usually take out at the bridge in Glen Tay.
