Lake Lure Boat Ramp

Lake Lure

Description

Concrete boat ramp behind ABC store at 2654 Memorial Highway. Easy entry into pristine water (near where “Dirty Dancing” was filmed). Must buy a pass at Town Hall, just up the road. $25 per kayak for a day pass is steep, but we were itching to get on the water. Beautiful view of surrounding mountains, including Chimney Rock. We kayaked in late September. A handful of motorized tour boats were careful with their wakes. Just a few other kayakers and paddle boards. The only wildlife we saw were a few turtles. A little grassy area next to the ramp would be good for picnics. We didn’t enter the ABC store so can’t report on availability of food or restrooms.
