Kinswa State Park Mayfield

Tilton River

Description

To paddle up the river, put in at boat launch and go north. You will go through some narrower passages and come into more pond-like areas. Eventually you will come to 2-3 shallow areas where you will need to drag your boat for 50 yards or so. After that you will paddle until you can no longer as the rapids are batroe and you are paddling against them. This is a beautiful paddle, often very crowded, but fun if you can go early in the a.m or just be social. The wildlife was great. At the major rapods, you just turn around and go back. While I have better boats, this is best done with a plastic sit on top you can get in and out of a lot!
