Isla Espiritu Santo, Baja California Sur, Mexico

Sea of Cortez

Description

Isla Espiritu Santo, an island of 80 square kilometers located in the Sea of Cortez and on the eastern edge of the Bay of La Paz, is a spectacular sea kayaking destination. It is part of a protected UNESCO biosphere reserve and National Park, home to beautiful beaches, desert arroyos, the native Cardon (aka "Elephant") cactus, as well as a variety of marine and desert wildlife. Espiritu Santo offers the juxtaposition of a desert island sitting right on top of the deep blue waters of the Sea of Cortez, all of which create a memorable paddling experience for those who visit.
