Description

Small car park nearby, at the bottom of healy road. Then a short walk across the foot bridge and a right turn to get to this nice setting up and launch point. The Calder at this point has a small series of shallows under the railway bridge, then a long straight paddle down to a small Weir just before the road bridge at horbury bridge. Several shallow points between here and the large Weir at horbury junction, but a nice enough paddle and quite doable with water levels at low levels in summer. Potential to be much more tricky in flood conditions.
