Hamburg Rd. Access

Shenango River - Fredonia, US

Description

The access road entrance is located between the Shenango river bridge and the village of New Hamburg. The access road is approx. 100 yards down a very narrow (no passing) dirt/gravel trail to the gravel boat launch which includes a turn around for boat trailers. Note that this a well used fishing hole so there’s generally someone there. Very easy and relaxing paddle (approx. 2 hours) from Kids Mill road; 3.5 hours from Greenville park to New Hamburg.

No parking on the access road. However, right across Hamburg Road from the access entrance is a small gravel parking lot for 4-5 vehicles.

Upstream from this spot includes American Bald Eagle nests and the birds (including juveniles) are frequently spotted. Almost guaranteed to see Great Blue Herons.
