Description
Enter Greenville, Pa. Riverside Park on Memorial Dr. If you want to access the boat drop, pass the parking lot and turn left onto Pat Patterson Dr., then left again back onto Memorial drive (note - Memorial drive is one way road the loops through the park). Make a quick right on to the boat launch access. After offloading, make a right back onto Memorial and then a right into the parking lot to leave your vehicle (and trailer if you have one).
ALTERNATIVELY, once you enter the park on Memorial, turn left into the parking lot on your left. If possible, park on the far end of the lot. There’s a short walk to the stone/cement dock on the river, so if you have a light boat to carry you can just park here and walk over. I prefer the drop off.
It’s about 1.5 hours from there to the Kidds Mill road bridge. The river can get shallow in places in between and offers just a few small riffles. Great Blue Herons are frequently seen. The water is too opaque to generally spot fish.
It’s another 2 hours after that to New Hamburg. Past Kids Mill the water gets deeper amd slower. Both times assume a rather leisurely pace.
