Description
Location: Land Between the Lakes, Trigg County, Kentucky, Highway 68/80 GPS: N 36 46’ 46.27” W 88 06’ 30.3” Directions to Access Point: Travel Highway 68/80 east from Murray, Kentucky; turn right into Fenton Campground. Amenities: Developed Campground – Defined campsites, courtesy dock, RV electrical hookups, fire rings and/or grills, picnic tables, vault toilets, trash removal, potable water, mowed areas and a boat ramp. Nightly camping fees apply. Parking: 42 gravel spaces Restrictions: None Safety: Wear your life jacket. Know your skills and limits. Wind and weather can create dangerous conditions. Let someone know where you are going and when you plan to return. Plan to “Pack it in; pack it out!” South from Fenton Campground 3.4 miles south by the water trail to Turkey Bay OHV Area access point. Safety: Be aware of the wind and weather forecast. Time Allotment: 1 hour, 45 minutes Trail Description: The trail leads south from Fenton, along the shoreline of the Turkey Bay OHV Area and to the Turkey Bay OHV Area access point. Wildlife Viewing: Cultural Features: Natural Features: Fishing Information: North from Fenton Campground 11.6 miles north by the water trail to Higgins Bay access point. Safety: Be aware of the wind and weather forecast. Time Allotment: 5 hours, 45 minutes Trail Description: This is the longest section of the trail between access points. The trail leaves Fenton Campground, goes around the footings of the Eggners Ferry Bridge, then north through several mid-sized and large bays and into Higgins Bay to the Higgins Bay access point.
