Description

You can use the dock on the recreation pier for free. (Right next to the small kayak rental dock). Note that you can NOT go far upstream from here since the 14th street bridge dams the Tidal Basin. To get out to the Potomac proper, you have to go downstream around the East Potomac golf island.

Check out General's Row which is downstream from the launch.

Also watch out for the giant City Cruises booze-cruise ships which are based here!
